Protein Resources

The Uniprot consortium provides access to:
- the UniProtKB Protein knowledgebase, consisting of two sections:
Swiss-Prot - manually annotated and reviewed.
TrEMBL - automatically annotated and not reviewed.
Complete Proteome Sets - the complete set of proteins thought to be expressed by an organism whose genome has been completely sequenced are available for download.
- UniRef Sequence clusters, used to speed up similarity searches.
- UniParc Sequence archive, used to keep track of sequences and their identifiers.

Human Protein Reference database - a centralized platform to visually depict and integrate information pertaining to domain architecture, post-translational modifications, interaction networks and disease association for each protein in the human proteome.

WikiProteins is a section of the ConceptWiki that features a page for each protein. WikiProteins has pages for over one million biomedical concepts, derived from authorities such as the Unified Medical Language System (UMLS),UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot, and the Gene Ontology (GO). By adding information to concepts in WikiProteins, scientists expand an evolving knowledge base with facts, connections to other concepts, and reference information.

Human Proteinpedia - a community portal for sharing and integration of human protein data

HAMAP - High-quality Automated and Manual Annotation of microbial Proteomes
